Final project of the 3D Maya (in progress)
This is the final project of the 3D Maya . We have to animate a floursack character .
1. This is the flousack character and we need to animate it ! It is already done rigging and all the controlled are done already by the creator of this character.
3. The most importance thing when cmes to animating , we have to double check and be careful with the hand and leg . In this case, the floursack character have a short leg and short arm , this is quite challenging for me !
Final animation :
Special Thanks to Joe Daniels which have provide us (me) a rigged character for study purpose. This is a student work ,it is just an student project .
Rigging in 3D Maya
Task 4 is to do rigging for animation. Rigging is the most complicated part when comes to animation . The rigger should pay 100 % attention while he is doing the rigging because it will affect the animation when comes to wrong naming and the wrong joint /paint weight problem.
1. First of the rigging part is to create a joint . By following to the biology concept , the joint should be allocated at the same position as our human joint.
6. After that , started to create few controller . The controlled is the let the animator animated the character easier by just set keyframe of the controller only. All the joint and the IK are parent with the controller already.
10. Finally , just create an curve and parent it to the whole character . You model rigging is done !
1. First of the rigging part is to create a joint . By following to the biology concept , the joint should be allocated at the same position as our human joint.
2. Then ,create the whole body with the correct joint.
3.After that, renama the joint and will proceed to the Paint weight .
4. Paint Weight mean to adjust the skin while the character bending his arm . Paint weight is use to correct the part of the muscle/skin overlapping part.
5. After that, we have to create an IK handle to the arm and Knee. IK handle too is to make sure the hand joint are conneced and parent . When we move the joint , it will not run too much.
7. Create a controller of the hand . It's need complicated technical skill when comes to finger controller . So watch out !
8. Then, create the controller of each part of the joint to aniamted . The C text is the centre of gravity.
9. Same as the eyes too. Controlled of the eye .
Third Task of the Maya Class
Third task is we have to animated 2 ball which is a bowling ball and a rubber ball .
here is the progress:
1.First, import the bowling ball with texture . After that, we need to set up a scene . After that , we start to animated it by using keyframe. An camera also needed for animation.
2. Then , use try and error method try to aniamted the ball.
3. When the ball fall down , we have to take care of the rotation and the squash effect on the ball.
4. It is better to have a view from a camera . Just go to "show">after that showing camera .
This is the final render shot clip (4sec) of the animation of both of the ball:

Here is the progress of the rubber ball:
1.It is the same technique as the bowling above. First, animation of the ball is based on the keyframe.
2.Se key and have to adjust it in the graph editor to make sure that the feeling is there and the animation is smooth.
3.After that, while finisheing set all the keyframe , double check the animation and the squash and squeeze effect upon on the rubber ball.
4.The last step, playblast the animation and see whether the animation is smooth or not. If not smooth enough, I going to adjust the speed and the rotation and position too.

Task 2
Task 2 we will proceed to the lighting of the Task 1 which is the modelling part .
We have to create the lighting and render all the render layer .
At the early stage, import the 2 model inside the workspace . We have to build a plane and bend it just like shown in the figure below. After that create 1 or 2 target light to the main object which is the coke bottle and the money plant .
This is the Background render layer.
This is the floor shaded/shadow render layer.
This is the greyscale-lighting render layer.
This is the object color render layer.
This is the oculus render layer.
This is the reflected render layer.
This is the RGB Matte render layer.
This is the object shaded render layer.
This is the object spec render layer.
This is the DOF render layer.
This is the final look of IBL(image-based lighting) .
First task on 3D Maya
First day of the class , our lecturer teached and showing us some of the new feature of the Maya 2016 and she also do comparison between Maya2015 and Maya2016 and others software too such as 3D Max software.
The first task of the week is we have to do modelling.
She want to see what is the level of us on the basic modelling skill .
The task which we had to do is model a coke bottle with liquid and 1 money plant.
Here is the sequences :
1. We need to launch Maya software . Mine is Maya 2016 , and actually there is some new feature in Maya 2016 compared to Maya 2015. This is the main screen and the main workspace .
2.After that , we have to set project . This method is very suitable for everyone because when you set a project , afterward if you save your file and all your file data and all the images or scene file are allocated inside 1 folder which had been create at the early stage (The time your set the project) .
3.Next, Import the coke bottle image and then start modelling . First thing to do is create a cylinder and then do scaling to get the simple shape first. After that , continue until you get the coke bottle shape.
4.After finished modelling, we need an UV warp . Import the UV image and assign it to the coke bottle .
5.After assign it, you start to adjust the color and the transparency . After that, export it out in Adobe Photoshop.
6.Do the samething to the coca-cola logo too . Just create an UV and then import the logo ,hence export it out in PS. Next , assign the logo (png file) to the transparency layer.
7.This is final look of the coke bottle.
Here is the process of modelling a money plant:
1.First , create reference (import the image plane). After that use CV curve tool to trace it out the shape of the vase.
2.After that, move on to the leaf too.
3.This is probably the leaf will look like.
4.After that ,proceed to the stem . Create curve and then use deformer(twist ) to make it twisted effect on that particular stem.
5.Hence, you will get all the leaf done by duplicated the leaf and change the deformer .
6.This is the final look of the money plant .
