The Great Design by James M Heyworth

The Great Design   by James M Heyworth

The unveiling of the Great Design reveals that the earth, the moon and the sun are factors in a great design, and other factors of the Great Design are the units of measure from various systems that are used to reveal the message embedded in the Great Design. The time span of a day is dictated by the earth’s rotation speed which is a finely tuned Great Design factor, the units used by the whole world to divide the day and measure time called the second, the minute and the hour are also Great Design factors. The whole world divides circles into 360 degrees with each degree containing 60 minutes that are subdivided into 60 seconds, this system was first used in the Great Design. Music’s laws of harmony are Great Design factors, the numbers and number sequences found on the Musical Scale Chart are very thoroughly woven into the Great Design.

The Greek and Hebrew languages, their alphabets along with their embedded systems of numbers were used in the Great Design before man even existed thus demonstrating that the Source of languages, alphabets and writing is neither mortal man nor Evolution. The British system of latitudes and longitudes are used by the whole world but they were first used in the Great Design before man existed.

The purpose of the Stonehenge group of monuments and the Great Pyramid was to reveal the Great Design in detail and they have succeeded, the monuments are geometric time capsules containing a message from the past to the present, the seals are broken and the message can be read.

>> They believe one of the great design in the world is the pyramid. The construction of the pyramid is very unbelievable which bring a mystery in the past about how can they do this by human ?

Review about what is mean by Creative thinking

Creative thinking is

the process we use to develop ideas that are unique, useful and worthy of further elaboration.

Creative Thinkers:
  • Consider rejecting standardized formats for problem solving.
  • Have an interest in a wide range of related and divergent fields.
  • Take multiple perspectives on a problem.
  • Use trial-and-error methods in their experimentation.
  • Have a future orientation.
  • Have self-confidence and trust in their own judgment.
Creative Thinking Questions
  • What would exist that does not exist now?
  • What would be happening that does not happen now?
  • What decisions would be made and executed?
  • What accomplishments would be in place that are not now?
  • What patterns of behavior that currently in place would be eliminated?

Final Project of Creative Thinking-Infographic

Finally my group make a right decision about the "table" topic  . After my team mates and I had been doing some research on internet and get some big idea and also supported by some of the furniture shop owner .
Finally, we had done our infographic with the help and teamwork between our team mates.

We called our table "LEGO TABLE". We try to apply the six thinking hats and the principle of design into this
This lego table is made up from teak wood which is very stable . Teak wood is particulary valued for its durability and water resistance.Teak wood also very nature and very environmental friendly too. From the flexibility, lego table is a mechanical table . It can also adjust the height by adding some block to it .Moreover , it can also extend and reduce the size . It is easier to portable to everywhere while you just carry the block to the places where you want to place. You can change the size of the table too. We generated this idea is based on the simple design . It's very easy to join the block together and there is not required any screw or nail ! In other words, it's simple but asthetic. Besides, It's also play with our creativity ! We can build or joining pieces of block to formed different kind of table either it's short , round shape or long table . In a nutshell, this "lego table"will unleash your creativity and in the same time having fun to it ~

This is the user guide for the Lego Table . The lego table consists of 4 TOP A ,1 TOP B , 4TOP C, 4 LEG A and 4 STICK A . Follow the instruction given or the blueprint given , bulid it by yourself !  Have fun~~

The common table size in the world is about 30" height ,width and the length too .To stabilized the table , we need a stick A to insert it into the corner of the table.   WELL, Let's make this , because this is DIY ~

Rendering :
-I only know 2 type of rendering which is mental ray and V-ray which can be seen in the render setup in 3D max .

Mental ray  is a production quality renderer developed by mental images. It is integrated into the later versions of 3ds Max, and is a powerful raytracing renderer with bucket rendering, a technique that allows distributing the rendering task for a single image between several computers efficiently, using TCP network protocol.

V-Ray :A third-party render engine plug-in for 3D Studio MAX. It is widely used, frequently substituting the standard and mental ray renderers which are included bundled with 3ds Max. V-Ray continues to be compatible with older versions of 3ds Max.

Further study on Digital illustration

Digital illustration:

Digital illustration is the use of digital tools to produce images under the direct manipulation of the artist, usually through a pointing device such as a tablet or a mouse. It is distinguished from computer-generated art, which is produced by a computer using mathematical models created by the artist.

Example of Illustration software :
1.Bitmapped  (Bitmap applications are commonly called "painting" programs)
2.Vector application (vector applications are called "drawing" programs.)

5 Essential Illustration Tools

1.The right pencil---For sketches.
2.The right pen---To create darker outline.
3.Drawing table---Draw on a suitable and comfortable drawing table.
4.Scanner---Scan the sketches which is as the final into your computer.
5.Graphic Tablet (Wacom) ---Start to touch up and insert the color into the sketches.

Top Digital Painting Artist around the world:

1. Alberto Seveso ( The master of photoshop )

2. Evgeny Parfenov  ( The master of character design illustration

3. Natalie Shau (Mixed media artist)

4. Anton Semenov ( Stunning, awesome digital illustration artist)

EXTRA STUDY :

An Introduction to illustration's color tools :

In AI ( Adobe Illustration ) , you may know about RGB and CMYK , but how about LAB or HSB ?
Lecturer haven;t teached us about this kind of color tools yet. With all these color choices and ways to use them it's often easy to get confused.

About digital color:

RGB

-This color model is created by overlaying Red , Green , and blue .
- It represents a wide range of color shades .
-Every of these three color has range from 0 to 255 which represents their intensity .
-For example R=0 G=0 B=0 (MIN) represent Black and while R=255 G=255 B=255 (MAX) represent White color.

CMYK

-This color model is based on absorbing ink printed on paper .
-  C=Cyan , M=Magenta , Y=Yellow and K=Key/Black.
-Lower percentages equals the lighter colors and higher percentages equals darker colors.
- C=0% M=0%  Y=0%  K=0%  represent White
-C=100%  M=100% Y=100%  K=100%   represent Balck .

HSB

-This color model is closest to human perception of colors.
- HSB contain three base element which are Hue , Saturation and Brightness.
-Hue is the position of color on the color wheel .
-Saturation indicates the amount of gray in the shade of particular color in percents .
-Saturation of 0% =Grey while saturation of 100% = deep/darker color.
-Brightness (value) means the brightness of the color .
-For example , brightness 0% = Black while brightness 100% = full color /solid color .

LAB

-This color model is based on how color looks rather than its value on digital media .
-It represents the absolute value of color independently from computers.
-The color value is mixed through 3 axes .
-L=lightness and has value from 0 to 100.
-A=green to red axes
-B= blue to yellow axes .

Vector graphics
-Vector graphics is the use of geometrical primitives such as pointslinescurves, and shapes or polygons—all of which are based on mathematical expressions—to represent images in computer graphics.
-Vector graphics are based on vectors (also called paths), which lead through locations called control points or nodes.
-Each of these points has a definite position on the x and y axes of the work plane and determines the direction of the path; further, each path may be assigned a stroke color, shape, thickness, and fill.

Comparison vector graphic with bitmap :

Digital Illustration Techiniques for photoshop

-Feel volume and agle of the form
-Where is the light source ?
-try to figure out if there are any shadows that might be falling on the surface.
-The exposure level .
-The texture of the surface.
-Which layer do you start ?

Light Stuff
-There's really just one kind of light .
-You can only see the light if it enters your eye.
-A part of it is absorbed .This is how color formed.
-If the surface is bumpy it will bounce away sort of randomly .
-If the surface is smooth it will bounce away in a predictable path.
-A mirror is very smooth so the light comes back undistorted, so we can see our reflection .

Research on Final Project Creative Thinking

This subject -creative thinking- is test our mind and sharpen our knowledge and thinking skill.

Final project of creative thinking :

My group choose the idea of  "Table" .

First of all, I done some research on "what is table? " "what is the different between table and a desk ?" and some of the example of table and the material used .

From internet :

table is a form of furniture with a flat horizontal upper surface used to support objects of interest, for storage, show, and/or manipulation.[1] Some common types of table are the dining room table, which is used for seated persons to eat meals; the coffee table, which is a low table used in living rooms to display items or serve refreshments; and the bedside table, which is used to place an alarm clock and a lamp. The surface must be held stable. For reasons of simplicity, this is usually done by support from below by either a column  , a "base", or at least three columnar "stands". In special situations, table surfaces may be supported from a nearby wall, or suspended from above.

                                                                   Source from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_(furniture)

Summary from the text :

1.Table is a furniture.
2.Table divided into many type and consists of different function.
3.For example , dining table, coffee table and bedside table.

Type of table :

Coffee table :   A coffee table (cocktail table) , is a style of long , low table which is designed to be placed infront a sofa . This is to support beverages ,food, fruit ,magazines and decorative object. Coffee table are usually found in the living room. They are available in many different variations and the prices are different according to the style .Some of the cooffee table contain built-in drawer for storage. The most common design from the material is made by wood , but nowadays cooffee table are made by metal especially stainless stell or aluminium .

Dining table : A table which are designed to be used for formal dining or serve any meal. Usually this kind of dinning tabble is made up of wood at the past and until now . By , there are a lot of dining table which are popular now is made up of glass . They belive glass bring us the feel of royalthy and glass also inculed as a design .

Drop-leaf table :  A drop-leaf table is a table that has a fixed section in the center and a hinged section (leaf) on either side that can be folder down. If the leaf is supportedby a bracket when folder up , the table is simply a drop-leaf table .  These table is made up of variety of woods from Cherry to Walnut , to Maple or Mahogany .

End table :  End tables are small tables typically placed beside couches or armchairs . Often lamps will be placed on an end table.

Folding table :  A folding table with legs that fold up against the table top . This is intended to make storage more convenient and to make the table more portable. Many folding tables are made of lightweight materials to further increase portability. Folding table are usually made from plastic, metal ,wood, and other materials . Folding tables are used in homes, scholls ,churchs, and other buildings that have rooms intended for various functions. Folding tables can used for sit-down activities, and then easily removed and stored out of the way when open space is needed .

Gateleg table :  A gateleg table is a type of furniture first introduced in England in the 16th century . The table top has a fixed section and one or two hinged leaves , which when not in use, fold down below the fixed section to hang vertically .There are usually made from oak .

Poker table :  A poker table is a table specifically designed for games especially card games such as poker . The table are covered with baize (a speed cloth that help the card slide easily across the surface) .The edge of the table is usually padded and raised slightly for the players to rest their arms, and this section is called the "rail" . There is often a section of wood between the rail and the playing surface .The center of the table often features an image , name or the logo of the casino where the game is being played .

Trestle table :  A trestle table is an item of furniture comprising two or three trestle supports linked by a longitudinal cross-member over which a board or table top is placed . In the Middle Ages the trestle table was often little more than loose boards over trestle legs for ease of assembly and storage . This simple, collapsible style remained the most common Western form of table until the 16th century, when the as gateleg and reflectory tables .Ease of assembly and storage has made it the ideal occasional table, and it remains a popular form of dining table , as those seated are not so inconvenienced as they might be with the more usual arrangement of a fixed leg at each corner.

TV tray table :  TV tray table is a small and easily portable, folding table .These small tables were originally designed to be a surface from which one could having a meal while watching TV .This rack is suitable placed in a corner of the living room .

Wine table:

Wine-table is a late 15th-century device for facilitating after-dinner drinking, the cabinetmakers called it a "Gentleman's Social Table." It was always narrow and of semicircular or horseshoe form, and the guests sat round the outer circumference. In the earlier and simpler shapes metal wells for bottles and ice were sunk in the surface of the table; they were fitted with brass lids.
In later and more elaborate examples the tables were fitted with a revolving wine-carriage, bottle-holder or tray working upon a balanced arm which enabled the bottles to be passed to any guest without shaking. The side opposite the guests was often fitted with a network bag. It has been conjectured that this bag was intended to hold biscuits, but it is much more likely that its function was to prevent glasses and bottles which might be upset from falling to the floor. That the wine-table might be drawn up to the fire in cold weather without inconvenience from the heat it was fitted with curtains hung upon a brass frame and running upon rings. Sometimes the table was accompanied by a circular bottle-stand supported on a tripod into which the bottles were deeply sunk to preserve them from the heat of the fire. Yet another form was circular with a socket in the center for the bottle. Wine-tables followed the fashion of other tables and were often inlaid with wood or brass. They are now exceedingly scarce.

EXTRA INFORMATION :

Type of Desk

Davenport desk:

Davenport desk, (sometimes originally known as a Devonport desk[1]) is a small desk with an inclined lifting desktop attached with hinges to the back of the body. Lifting the desktop accesses a large compartment with storage space for paper and other writing implements, and smaller spaces in the forms of small drawers and pigeonholes. The Davenport has drawers on one of its sides, which are sometimes concealed by a panel. This stack of side drawers holds up the back of the desk and most of its weight.
The front of the desk stands on thick legs or pillars which are often highly carved, somewhat exaggerated, thick cabriole  legs, but these are not essential. 19th century Davenport desks had a variety of different leg designs.[2]
The desk shape is distinctive; its top part resembles an antique school desk while the bottom is like one half of the supports of a pedestal desk  turned sideways. The addition of the two legs in front completes the odd effect.
This desk owes its name to a Captain Davenport who was the first to commission the design, from Gillows of Lancaster, near the end of the 18th century. In a sense then it could also be considered a Campaign desk  though there are no records indicating if Captain Davenport was in the British Army or the Royal Navy.
This desk form was popular during the 19th century. There have been numerous reproductions during the 20th century, and amateur cabinetmakers sometimes consider a Davenport to be an interesting project.

Drawing board:

A drawing board (also drawing table, drafting table or architect's table) is, in its antique form, a kind of multipurpose desk which can be used for any kind of drawing, writing or impromptu sketching on a large sheet of paper or for reading a large format book or other oversized document or for drafting precise technical illustrations. The drawing table used to be a frequent companion to a pedestal desk in a gentleman's study or private library  , during the pre-industrial and early industrial era.
During the Industrial Revolution draftsmanship gradually became a specialized trade and drawing tables slowly moved out of the libraries and offices of most gentlemen. They became more utilitarian and were built of steel and plastic instead of fine woods and brass.
More recently engineers and draftsmen use the drawing board for making and modifying drawings on paper with ink or pencil. Different drawing instruments (set square , protractor, etc.) are used on it to draw parallel, perpendicular or oblique lines. There are instruments for drawing circles, arcs, other curves and symbols too (compass,French curve , stencil, etc.). However, with the gradual introduction of computer aided drafting and design (CADD or CAD) in the last decades of the 20th century and the first of the 21st century, the drawing board is becoming less common.
A drawing table is also sometimes called a mechanical desk because, for several centuries, most mechanical desks were drawing tables. Unlike the gadgety mechanical desks of the second part of the 18th century, however, the mechanical parts of drawing tables were usually limited to notches, ratchets, and perhaps a few simple gears, or levers or cogs to elevate and incline the working surface.
Very often a drawing table could look like a writing table or even a pedestal desk when the working surface was set at the horizontal and the height adjusted to 29 inches, in order to use it as a "normal" desk. The only giveaway was usually a lip on one of the sides of the desktop. This lip or edge stopped paper or books from sliding when the surface was given an angle. It was also sometimes used to hold writing implements. When the working surface was extended at its full height, a drawing table could be used as a standing desk.
Many reproductions have been made and are still being produced of drawing tables, copying the period styles they were originally made in during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Computer desk:

The most common form of the computer desk is a variant of the ergonomic desk, which has an adjustable keyboard tray and sufficient desktop space for handwriting. Provisions for a monitor shelf and holes for routing cables are integrated in the design, making it easier to connect the computer components together. The typical armoire desk provides space for a keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer and speakers. Cubicle desk designs for business and government workplaces include a range of shelves, trays and cable-routing holes for computer systems. In some computer desks, the cabling is affixed to the modesty panel at the back of the desk, to create a neater appearance.
There are a great variety of computer desk shapes and forms. Large multiple student computer desks configured in rows are designed to house dozens of computer systems while facilitating wiring, general maintenance, theft prevention and vandalism reduction. Small rolling lectern desks or computer carts with tiny desktops provide just enough room for a laptop computer and a mouse pad. Computer desks are typically mass-produced and require some self-assembly .
The computer itself is normally separate from the desk, which is designed to hold a typically sized computer, monitor and accessories. Cabling must be routed through the channels and access openings by the user or installer. A small number of computers are built within a desk made specially for them, like the British i-desk. Various proposals for the "Office of the future" suggested other integrated designs, but these have not been taken up.
A rolling chair table configuration offers mobility and improved access in situations where a desk is not convenient. Gyratory computer tables can be used over a bed. Modular computer tables separate user interface  elements from the computing and network connection, allowing more placement flexibility. The modules are connected via wireless technology.

Writing desk

writing desk or bureau acts as a kind of compact office. Traditionally, a writing desk is for writing letters by hand. It usually has a top that closes to hide current work, which makes the room containing it look tidy, maintains privacy, and protects the work. The closing top may contain several joints so that it can roll closed, or may simply fold closed. The writing surface (or place for lap-top) typically folds down (perhaps being the lid) or slides out, to preserve the compact size when closed. They often have small drawers or "pigeon holes".
Modern writing desks are designed for laptop computerof the 21st Century. They are typically too small for most desktop computers or a printer.
